All books being sold to bookcircus.com need to meet some guidelines when it comes to the condition of the book.
Guidelines for "Good" condition:
- The copyright page must exist and be intact.
- The cover must be intact and not covered by opaque tape or other obstructions (other than normal bookstore stickers).
- The cover must not be loose or pulling away from the pages.
- Pages must be intact.
- Pages should not be loose, falling out, or missing.
- The entire book must be generally free from water or liquid damage.
- No mold or mildew. No stains that go into the text. Pages should not be stuck together.
- Humidity can also damage a book beyond acceptable levels.
- Writing should not be excessive.
- A lot of writing and/or drawing that makes the text of a book unreadable will cause the book to be unacceptable.
- Profanity, lewd drawings, gang signs, etc, - inside or outside - make a book unacceptable.
- Law books should be free of writing and highlighting.
- Study guides and other fill in and/or perforated type books must be clean with no answers and all pages.
- If the title shows a CD or other required ancillary in the description, then these items must meet the same standards.
Guidelines for "Very Good" condition:
- Must meet all of the guidelines for "good" condition above.
- Tape of any kind (opaque or not) cannot be on the book.
- Cuts or scratches may not exist on the cover.
- Paperback covers must be flat and not curl excessively.
- Less than 10% of the book should be underlined and/or highlighted.
- Cover peeling or exposed cardboard may not exceed the diameter of a pencil eraser and may not exist in more than two places.

Books deemed to not meet the above condition guidelines, or missing required ancillaries, may have no value. bookcircus.com does not return these items, or other items that have no value.
